The Government of Nepal has designated the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) as the energy efficiency entity of the Government of Nepal. The decision has been made through the seventh revision of the Alternative Energy Promotion Development Board Formation Order, which came into effect after its publication on the National Gazette - October 30, 2018. AEPC is a government institution established on 3 November 1996 initially as the nodal agency for the promotion of alternative and renewable energy in Nepal. With the revised formation order of AEPC, now under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, AEPC will also be working as the nodal agency for the promotion of energy efficiency in the country.
